It had been a long day, our feet were killing us from walking on kerbstone paths. Or perhaps only mine were protesting. I couldn't wait to sit down and eat. There was a Nando's further east along the bank from the Globe Theatre, and my friend Judea was very keen on going. I had never heard of the place, but her friends back home highly recommended it. John tagged along, and we were glad for his company.
The building of this particular Nando's was part of a much older structure--an aqueduct, or some sort of tunnel? The inside of the restaurant was cavernous but warm lighting made it very welcoming. The ambiance was terrific; I am pretty sure my food wouldn't have tasted as good if it weren't for the atmosphere. The menu consisted of burgers and chicken--standard stuff, really. Little things like unlimited fountain drinks and unlimited chocolate frozen yogurt however, gave this a special place in my heart. We took our time eating, and talked about everything we've seen so far. It was a good night.
