Borough Market! (Jan. 15)

I wanted to go to Borough Market last week, but due to scheduling I wound up at Camden the whole day.
I'm just so glad I was able to experience the market today. Definitely a highlight among highlights of this trip.
The location was really easy to find, and the amount of stuff going on was overwhelming: some vendors preparing food, some yelling at passersby to have a free sample, people walking and eating and shopping, smells wafting from all over. I love food, so I instantly fell in love. As much as I wanted to buy everything however, my stomach became quite full (I suppose it were all those free samples I took...). I tried buffalo mozzarella for the first time--fresh and pungent! Actually, there were many a cheesemonger, which I found very exciting. Cheese wheels everywhere. I must admit the strong cheeses put me off; in terms of enjoying cheese, I'm a novice. Cheese, as well as most other dairy products, are not prominent in the Asian diet, so they can either smell interesting, or simply like feet odor. It's a problem, really, when I'm trying to expand my palate.
But I bought a raspberry tart--one that had the freshest berries in the world--and a pot of creme/custard that Emily recommended. Delicious. I wish I had saved the little glass pot though. I managed to take several pictures, even if my eyes were too busy looking at every little stall and my hands had a hard time keeping up. I liked seeing the different types of meat on sale: the usual beef and pork, and ostrich, pheasant, rabbit. just to name a few. If I lived in London, I would go to the market every weekend until I was satisfied there was nothing I had already seen/tasted/bought. It's a mission that would last several years.
